This is an interesting more, but I still dont see how it is big news. http://routenote.com has been developing these music distribution partners in recent months also.

Personally, TuneCore and iLike partnering isn't that big of a deal... however, it could a wonderful new aspect of the industry that smaller artists and groups can take advantage of if it catches and becomes widely used; like all things really.
P2Pwords on the other hand, if implemented properly, could be a good thing for a lot of the larger artists and brands imo. It just seems that with continued falls in CD sales [do they still sell them?], that an alternative income to their iTunes sales are in order. The p2p user base is vastly untapped, and could take well to a change such as this.
As far as U2 getting more money... when don't they?! Bono is the man and I've had Beautiful Day stuck in my head for hours... :P
